This CD consists of mostly original tunes and was
released July 14th, 2004, licensed through Sony Music.
This is a
predominantly nylon guitar album with a few electric tracks also included. This
is a gentle and relaxing album which is nevertheless strong on melody.
Here is a clip from the Good Morning Show of
"Happily Ever After":
"With this recording I
have deliberately steered away from the usual concepts of a "Guitar
Album", hence the title "Guitar Song". In fact I think
of it as simply a guitar just playing melody, with some improvising here and
there. From a creative point of view I don't know where my melodies
come from, but usually I start with a simple idea on the guitar and develop
it from there. I think some of these tunes are the best that I have
written . . . I hope you grow to like them and enjoy the relaxed mood of
this album." - Martin Winch
"It surprised me to learn that
many of the pieces were original because they have that comfortable
recognition factor that sits well among the few carefully chosen covers.
This all-instrumental album builds on the Bert Weedon tradition of smooth
guitar solos over lush backing, another great dinner music recording on the
heels of his 'Espresso Guitar' albums".
